I've put together some photos from the collection I did for the Porthleven Food Festival a few weeks ago. A great event with lots of music and food, which is two of my top five favourite things. My partner in crime for the day was Sal from Design Room Cornwall and you might be able to spot one of our photos that was taken at the same time but different angles.
Around the end of February I got invited to taste the new menu that River Cottage had put together for the Old Ale House. Going along with my usual in depth and lengthy reviews I will just mention it was really good, share some pictures and pop some more wordified links underneath x
ps get a pint of Skinners River Cottage EPA
I was lucky enough to be asked to spend the morning taking photos at the Blue Tomato in Rock a few weeks back. The photos were taken during service so what you see is what you get - which happens to be great food served in a great atmosphere in a great location.
For me food photography isn't always just about the final dish. I love to capture the whole event, spending time in the kitchen to grab those moments before the dish gets sent out.
Here are a few from when I was at the Wellington inn Boscastle.
Thought I would share this little outtake from some marketing pictures we (me + @ei8htdesign as artistic director) were taking for @BudeForFood upcoming food festival.
To set the scene Avril had been trying to balance macarons for about 4hrs and had finally got them looking good. The following photo was taken as a result of an involuntary shutter hand convulsion due to a scream of horror as they toppled.
